Really nice. We booked a suite which was Ideal for our family with separate twin room for the children and large modern stylish bathroom. It's the second time we have stayed in the same suite and would really recommend it.
We had a really good time there and would definitely use again if we are travelling to the area.

Kendal is sometimes an overlooked gem of a town, with many interesting places to visit with historic interest & a hive of culture.
We especially enjoyed the ease of getting to the Brewery Arts Centre for a concert & all on offer there.
Being into 'real ale', the Factory, was a valuable find, near to the river. (Nice pizza on a Friday evening too!) A haven for dog owners!
We visited the Art Gallery, had coffee/tea there & were spoiled for choice at the cakes for sale. Friendly staff there & an very interesting selection of modern art, photography & traditional art.
Recommend a walk up to the castle for a wonderful vista of the area.
Great connections by bus to the southern lakes & western lake district too.

The town of Kendal is great and this flat is well located to access the town centre etc.
I was disappointed with my accommodation as a very poorly equipped kitchen, poor water pressure in kitchen sink, tacky decor and bizarre unintelligible smart door handles.

Kendal has lots to offer visitors and is an ideal place to stay, away from the crowds in the central Lakes. Lots of walking accessible by good public transport, avoids taking the car and trying to find somewhere to park. Plenty of shops and places to eat, especially Corner 124 where you can enjoy an excellent meal.
Staff throughout the hotel were friendly, helpful and courteous. Breakfast was very good. Standard of food at dinner was good although for the money portions could have been bigger especially the starter. Service at both breakfast and dinner was good (should say that at both the times we went in the restaurant was not very busy.) Managed to park right opposite the front door but that was only later in the day after we had already hauled our luggage up the hill from the lower car park.
The hotel is perfectly located, just a few minutes walk from Kendal High St. My room overlooked the river, which was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was spotless. My room was just the right size for me as a single traveller, with a good sized desk for work and a small table and chairs by the window. The wifi was a little slow at times but usable and I enjoyed using the pool on the last night of my stay.
Beautiful hotel with lots of character, really comfy and cosy room decor with lots of small touches. Amazing views of the fields and mountains, perfect location for Windemere and Kendal. Lovely bar and breakfast area with balcony overlooking the views, and a serve yourself type bar. The bed was large and soft, smart TV with Netflix etc, rooms quiet and dark. Full English breakfast was quick and well cooked. Overall a really peaceful stay.
We liked the location, the comfortable quiet accomodations. The breakfast was exceptional. The hosts Wendy and Richard were friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area. we had some really nice walks thanks to them.
Kendal is a lovely little town with an ancient history. The little windy streets and buildings were charming. It was so easy, as well, to get deeper into the lake district.
We would definitely stay here again.
We had such a lovely stay. The room was spacious, had a lovely powerful shower, and was warm. Our room was dog friendly too which meant we could stay with our pooch.
The staff was so friendly, the breakfast had plenty of choice, and we loved having a pub as part of the hotel so we could have dinner on-site.
The hotel is also well located, and was perfect for a visit to Kendal.
There is a great deal to like about Stonecross Manor, which is full of character, relatively recently refurbished and has the most wonderful, very welcoming staff. For me, the staff were the hotel’s greatest asset. I felt the hotel offered very good value for money. The location met my needs very well, though it is a little way out of Kendal, which may not suit everyone.
The bedroom, guest lounge, breakfast room, all lovely and the guest lounge is such a bonus. Food variety, portions, quality all excellent. Kendal within walking distance unless you're infirm. Parking is a bit hit and miss and Kendal's road system is torturous.
Hostess so nice and very helpful.
It is definitely on my ' go back to' list.
The location is very suitable for driving and is just next to the main road leading to Kendal. The hotel is situated next to a farm shop and surrounded by green pastures. The staff are very friendly, and pets are welcome. The restaurant is amazing, and source local produce for the food and beverages.
The home was clean and spacious and in a beautiful location, perfect for walks with the dogs and to travel around the lake district. The living area was a great size for 6 people and we felt completely at home for the weekend we were there. The house had everything that we needed for our stay.
location was lovely and very convenient to travel to kendal and surrounding areas. Easy access. McDonalds, Costa and WHSmiths on site. the view was very nice. This place could be a lovely hotel if it was upgraded and had a breakfast room - of this was the case we would be happy to visit again.
the owner at glenholme was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, the little exra touches in the room wer lovely, and the facilties were better than a lot of hotels we had stayd at, the property is just a short walk from Kendal and the town itself has lots to offer
Great hosts in a great location, Kendal has its charms and so close to the lakes. The lodge has everything you need and a great handbook too. Well worth the price, will definitely be returning when we revisit the area.
Central location in Kendal with plenty of options for dining nearby. Ground floor rooms behind the hotel. Friendly staff when we stopped in for a drink. Good full breakfast options.
Beautiful hotel. Room was superb. Very clean. Lovely decor. Dog friendly. Staff were very helpful. Restaurant was good. Great location for exploring kendal and windemere.
The hotel grounds were lovely, the hotel being situated 20 minute walk into Kendal. Staff were all lovely and attentive. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice
Really helpful, friendly staff - both in reception and the bar area. The room was very clean, and I felt safe there. Parking across the road was great as well.
