The terrace with mountain views was the perfect spot to unwind and take in the breathtaking scenery. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious breakfast prepared by our gracious hosts. Charming Bach house on a farm 5 min from Hobbiton. Very well stocked and the host was so friendly and accommodating. Best of all was Ludo the dog who decided we were part of the family. Walnut Lodge B&B offers accommodation in Matamata. Every room at this bed and breakfast is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. Absolutely beautiful property. Everything from the decor to the comfortable bed to the great shower made it a perfect stay. And the breakfast was delicious. Walnut Lodge is a labour of love for its owners Mike and Mia and you can see how much pride and effort they put into their property. Would recommend it to anybody looking to stay in the Matamata area. It was outstanding.

Built in 1977, The Nunnery is located in central Te Aroha and offers a guest lounge and a shared patio with BBQ facilities. It is a 2-minute walk from the Te Aroha Mineral Spas. Denise us a champ, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We loved our stay in Te Aroha!
