The fact the pool is 18+. We only booked this hotel for the pool and outside space for the kids. On booking.com it isn’t clear from the hotel children aren’t allowed in the pool - it was only clear in the auto messages sent by the hotel after booking so disappointing. I understand why the spa etc is 18+ however you would expect the pool to designated slots for family swims.

Cocktails ready made from a bottle not ideal, should say that on the menu, but for £9.90 each that’s not great value for money. Pillows a bit hard!

We weren’t aware of the events taking place on site at the time. There was a funeral on arrival and a wedding on check out. This would have been ok but we were not aware until arrival that the restaurant would be closed due to this.

Breakfast staff were extremely friendly as well as receptionist who helped us out with a taxi and takeaway!

A foul odour in the reception / bar area during our stay. Some features looked dated but completely understand that hotel is going through a refurbishment. During dinner a service, our table was neglected and we saw a group who came in after us being serviced before us.

The food was excellent, lots of credit to the chef.

Shampoo was minimal and no conditioner, as I had forgotten my own shampoo. Hair was like straw after I had washed it. Also in the spa, all the bottles of shampoo and body lotion were empty. Pool was quite cold.

Considering this is a spa hotel, the rooms are looking a little dated and don't scream spa. The bathroom really needs an update, and the toilet cistern made a lot of noise so I feel like getting maintenance done in the rooms needs to be looked at. The rooms are quite tight and so you are on top of each other a little. You can hear a lot of noise from the corridor so pack ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

The staff are really friendly and helpful and the hotel is on nice grounds - the breakfast has a really nice selection. The bed was comfortable and our stay was due to my friends wedding and so we had everything we needed to have an enjoyable stay.

The restaurant was closed and has been for some time - despite this, I received confirmation of my dinner reservation 2 days before (not automated) and only when I arrived and asked where the restaurant was, was I informed it was the bar or room service only.

Bed was a bit soft Overall the hotel is nice but quite expensive for what you get Too many emails about my booking. I had over 10. At the end of the day, I had booked and paid, I don't need the app, I don't need early booking in, I just need a confirmation email.

No staff at the bar in the evening. Waiting 20 minutes (no queue) for a bar staff to just order a drink. Same in the morning (around 7:30am) in spa. Just nobody there.

Wasn't made aware there was a private party that night at the time of booking, so we could not use the restaurant. We had no choice but to eat in the bar with my family and 3 year old child while rowdy drunks are shouting obscenities at the top of their lungs. We were only advised 2 days after making the booking that there was a private party, and when I asked if I could cancel and rebook elsewhere I was told it was a non refundable room and therefore I would lose all my money if I chose to go elsewhere.

My stay was lovely the only thing that let my stay down was other guesses, I was woken up at 5.30am to children and people shouting. Also they was very loud till late on the night. I over heard other guesses coming out to tell them to keep the noise down also. Other than that my stay was beautiful thankyou.

Spa and Jacuzzi where unavailable during our stay which we where really looking forward too we where notified via booking.com messages 4 days before our stay but did not see the message because we was sent it at 1am, we where told on arrival but by then we had no choice but to stay so was a bit gutted about that
