A big, big surprise for me. I admit I hadn't made much of a research, and with the population just two-third of Malaga's, I expected a nice seaside town with beautiful yet small historic center. Instead, it's a city with imperial grandeur, vast pedestrian zones, incredible greenery and beautiful works of art in public space. And the cathedral is a monumental gem. Must return one day.

We loved our stay in Palma!
We loved our stay in Palma!
Of course, the blue sky and sunshine were a factor, but the tree lined streets, narrow alleyways and historic architecture would be attractive all year round!
We found people friendly and helpful.
We were spoiled for choice for eating venues.
We went back twice to El Apendre, not far from our hotel, as my husband said they cooked steak (over a fire) better than anywhere he's been!
In Palma, there were fewer bar and restaurant staff who were confident in speaking English than I'd expected and it was worth taking our Spanish dictionary/phrase book!

Loved the quirkyness of the old town and all the cobble streets. Lots of places to stop for drinks & tapas and lots of nice bakeries too. Thought food & drink all reasonably priced.
Expected the Marina and promenade area to be more sophisticated and ambient than it was, but did see some amazing yachts!
The cathedral is amazing to see.

Bustling city but away from the majority of the hen/stag party groups. Plenty of historical and cultural places to visit. Maybe not somewhere that younger children would find interesting. Wide selection of bars and restaurants. Plenty of up-market shops if that's your thing. Cathedral and Royal Palace well worth visiting. The Arab Baths is also a little corner of tranquillity. Easy place to get round on foot to the major attractions. Soller train makes for a picturesque change to the city - but either book ahead or get to the station at opening to buy tickets

The beaches, the sea, the food and the people are on top.
The beaches, the sea, the food and the people are on top. The Cathedral and the main square around it are impressive, rich and elegant. Some other central streets are similar to la Rambla in Barcelona. Except for these main sites, the city of Palma surprised me with many shabby buildings. But overall it's a great location for the holiday in May or perhaps in autumn when it's not yet so hot.

Palma is a small city, although its on a Holiday Island Palma itself is a healthy mix of locals and tourists. The shops restaurants and bars are as you would find in London or Paris. It's very close to the port so you have a great mix of city life by the sea. Like most European Cities it comes alive from Thursday evening - the weekend is lively.

This beautifully renovated boutique hotel is in keeping with the historical architecture of the building and comes with a stunning couple of suits and pool with views from the solarium on the top floor — the property is only a 10m walk down to the marina and is surrounded by top restaurants (like the sushi bar “corona” and “el toque”) and is situated at the base of a stairway up to the castle which is a must for the view! The breakfast was also good on the terrace for a modest fee.
location was good in the sense they had quick access to a local small beach albeit it was a bit distant from palma de mallorca city center (15' drive). the breakfast was a bit disappointing because it was not a buffet instead they'd bring us the same dish everyday, without variation in quality or quantity, invariably becoming a boring breakfast. the rooms per se was fine and clean, with hot and abundant water in the shower.
Good little hotel centrally located walking distance to bus/train station and old town. Hotel is well suited to single night or a few nights. We were given room 506 with great rooftop terrace with views over the city. Room was very spacious with big bath, jacuzzi!!
A great little find and very affordable.
I stayed at the hotel for a week, I was lucky enough to meet the 5 people who work at the hostel, they are a great team that does everything possible to make sure you have a great time in Mallorca. I spent Christmas Eve with them and it was like being with my family :) Thank you guys you are the best!
It’s a quaint hotel that used to be a convent. Rooms are comfortable and well supplied.
Best of all is the staff. Everyone make you feel welcomed from the moment you step in the Hotel, very helpful and accommodating while you are there, and just as well as you leave.
The breakfast are the best!
Location is excellent... just a few metres from the beach and also within easy reach (2-3mins walk) of the bus into the city centre. For us, the staff were the best part. Each one was friendly, professional and we felt right at home from the minute we stepped into the hotel. We'll be back!
Excellent hotel, went beyond our expectations, extremely clean and comfy rooms with satellite TV, the hotel pool is super relaxing, great beds, pool and poolside food and drinks services. Location is excellent, middle of palma city, close to beaches and old town.
Nice location, great property with excellent facilities and very friendly staff. The gym is one of the best I have ever used in a hotel...the equipment is old school but it is well maintained and there is everything you could need...except maybe a squat rack :)
Spacious room (for a city hotel). Nicely arranged. Great shower. Huge, comfortable bed. Helpful staff particularly on the front desk. Loved the roof terrace plunge pool and seating area. Close to the centre. Probably the best city hotel I've ever stayed at!
Boutique hotel with loads of style in a great location. There was a warm welcome every time we returned and all the team were super helpful. Our room was a duplex and really well equipped.
Great location in the old town close to all the action
The hotel staff was excellent and answered all of our questions. The room, pool and terrace were great. The hotel is right on the beach with many good restaurants within walking distance. Old town is 15 minutes by bus or car.
We loved the central location in vicinity of the Old Town and Olivar market. The building has been renovated in a very nice way. the rooms are very clean and spacious. very tasty breakfast. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
This hotel is for sure a must if you’re looking for comfort, nice views and a great time on the beach. We loved our stay in every way. Highly recommend it!!!
