The location was absolutely amazing, the view was above expectation. Very comfortable beds, very clean, very warm despite snowing outside, breakfast was lovely (homemade pancakes and maple syrup delicious) and the staff very friendly and helpful. We really loved the whole experience. Thank you

Lovely and comfortable – it's an old house but with modern conveniences and it's not that far from the zoo. The kids had fun playing board games and we all enjoyed the wood-heated sauna.

It was a nice place to stay, quite spacious. The location was good as well, easily accessible. We liked the fact that there were different matrasses in each room (soft/medium/firm), so that we could pick the one that we liked the best. Because of that we had a very good night of sleep.

The idea of a glass igloo is appealing - however be prepared for some space challenges. These igloos obviously have great access in summer to water - so likely will be enticing at that time of year. The beds were great - comfortable. Space for bags minimal - we had to decanter our clothes into our small carryon bags. even then could only have one bag open at a time. There were great subfloor storage for food (like an esky).
Advertised to have kitchen - but no cooking utensils really supplied - no plates, bowls, cutlery. Family very happy to allow us to take some from BFast to use later. Issue is no ability to cook as no pots / pans supplied! After a big day out - only option was to eat in the restaurant on site - or have sandwiches only. Thus advertising a little off for what the igloos provide.
Family - staff lovely. Very helpful (even with my limited Finnish). Loved the night out hunting for the northern lights. Even if nothing occurs you get a traditional Finnish campfire - food - conversation. Just rug up!
My daughter loved patting the husky's as they returned from a run!
A visit to the local Arctic zoo is a must!!

Great place to stay! Friendly, helpful and very kind host. Beautiful and quiet countryside, ideal place for a real rest in the nature. It is warm and comfortable even in the true northern winter conditions (-30 degrees C). The snow is removed from the driveway by tractor, no need to worry about it.

This was our second stay. It was even better than our first with the addition of four Reindeers which we could feed with food provided by Terhi. We love the villa and remote location. We especially love the peace, the scenery, the sunrises, frozen lake at your doorstep, hot tub to fire up each night and sit and look at the stars (or Northern lights, if you are lucky - we saw a strong show on our last night (Terhi sent us a message to alert us) and weaker show on the horizon on 2 or 3 other nights). WE also enjoyed walking to the river to watch the sunsets and try fishing (fishing equipment is available in the garage). And visited the sledging hill at Honkivaara near Ranua 3 times during our stay - using the Kota's there to warm up, cook sausages and marshmallows with the free wood provided. The villa interior was as lovely as before, with comfy beds, excellent heating, great sauna and beautiful views. I love the coffee machine and waffle maker. There are now two double beds downstairs and a new sofa (plus two single beds) upstairs + PlayStation 4, as well as Xbox 360, which my boys loved. There were even more sledges, snow shoes, ski shoes this year + the usual small hill next to the lake for sledging.

Location was fantastic, sauna next to the river was magical. Kitchen was well equipped.
Clean, comfortable and charming. perfect distance from the bus station and from the zoo. in fact much less crowded than Rovaniemi with all of the same winter activities. Ranua is a precious little hideaway and this place is perfect to explore the Finnish Lapland. The breakfast is great and the staff is very friendly and warm - always helpful even with small special requests. Do check out their cozy sauna - it is so comforting after a long day’s activities.
The location was just perfect after visiting Ranua Zoo. We slept very well because the beds were comfortable. The sauna was really nice and we all enjoyed it very much! I can imagine in the summer time the cottage is really lovely place to stay (you can swim and do barbeque), and it is a wonderful place for two travellers or small families who have a cot for the child.
The bed and the full view from the bed oriented towards the north is the best point of the hotel.
The location and the view are very good to be in contact with nature.
Having a private sauna inside the apartment is also a very nice thing.
We loved the location at the frozen lake, the fact that we arranged a husky ride on the lake through the hotel and the free use of the sauna.
Everybody was very friendly and helpful. The bus station is just 10min on foot.
The property is a very nice house with outside sauna. It has everything you need to have a great stay in Ranua. The fireplace worked perfectly, the rooms were very clean and warm.
