The facilities were beautiful - wonderful garden in the back and a lovely view out front. Staff was nice, room was spacious and elegant. In-house dog was a real treat.

Everything was perfect. The only flaw I'd have was the WIFI. I would definitely stay again though.

Loved the quaint little town and the shops, restaurants and pubs available to us. Also, the grocery store was very well stocked and the SPAR there had laundry facilities that we so badly needed to use.

Plenty of excellent restaurants in Clifden from mid-price to expensive. Great coffee and snacks available at very reasonable prices. Good shopping and excellent craft/art/souvenir shops in the town. Beautiful Church with small but sincere congregation. Lovely clean town, adequate parking available.

There is so much to see.
There is so much to see. I'm a walker and we were able to access many great walks - mountain, sea and forest walks. We had a car to get to locations. Good location for exploring Connemara. Fabulous scenery. Plenty places to eat in the evenings.

A beautiful area in the National Park.
A beautiful area in the National Park. The little town centre was quite vibrant for such a remote area and lots of independent cafes and shops It was possible to do manageable walks (even for us oldies)

Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink. There is a very well stocked supermarket in the town and the surroundings were very clean and well maintained. Getting a local taxi was a bit of a problem so we had to drive everywhere, which didn't allow us to have a drink in the town as our accommadation was about 3 miles outside the village.
Honestly I was so impressed by this place. Well proportioned and beautifully styled rooms, lovely common spaces, and ridiculously comfortable beds. Did not expect to have a stay as half as good as this while driving down the West coast, nevermind for as reasonable a price as it was.
Room had extra pillows/towels already stocked if they were needed, and a Nespresso machine and well stocked box of teas/coffees.
Clifden itself was a highlight of our road trip and the hotel is very well positioned to explore the town.
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It has been just refurbished and has every amenity, all of which are brand new. The bedrooms and beds are cozy and very comfortable. The location is great, just outside clifden. Excellent and responsive communication with the owner. We cannot say enough good things about this property. Wish we could have stayed longer. Book several days or more. You won’t be disappointed.
very stylish stay over with a nice relaxed atmosphere and Breakfast area was French style. with rugs and soft Music. food was very good. and professionally presented. it’s not a modern Hotel but fits in for its built age. with cosy rooms. fitted with everything you need. the town is beautiful with plenty to eat and Drink. a jewel in the far west of Ireland.
My wife and I were in Ireland for 11 days, each day a different lodging. Ardagh was by far the best of the lot. I know the rating only goes to 10, but this place is in a league of its own....a 20 as far as I am concerned. Friendly staff, wonderful location, great breakfast, clean. Sadly we did not get to eat dinner as we had other commitments.
What a lovely place to stay. It was only for one night and we wished we could have stayed longer. It was warm and spacious. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped. The fresh flowers was a lovely touch. It’s about 10 minutes drive from the gorgeous town of Clifden. This is such a beautiful part of Ireland.
We loved everything about this place, especially Federique whose kindness and hospitality made us feel welcome from the moment she opened the door. Clifden Bay Lodge was clean, modern and our room a fair size with a brilliantly comfortable bed - the best couple of nights sleep in our road trip of Ireland.
Very very roomy, comfortable king size bed, quiet, price very reasonable. No breakfast but coupon given for €10 breakfast at downtown hotel which we used and was very good. Front desk person gave good advice to our questions. On edge of town but 1 km walk to the Station bar.
The Woodfield Hotel is a lovely hotel in the centre of Clifden. The staff are excellent, really pleasant and helpful. The food here is very good. The breakfast ingredients were high quality and well cooked. We ate one evening meal here which we enjoyed.
The hotel is really nicely decorated, staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are nice, and the bar downstairs was a lovely spot to chat and have a drink! The location is fab, you could not get closer to the town of Clifden!
Great modern property in a great location, very central in Clifden town. Public car park at the back of the property also has 2 x Electric Car Chargers. Owner left coffe pods + 1L Milk which was a nice surprise
Nothing - The owner was extremely difficult and non accommodating. We had to book another hotel for the night because all the amenities were unavailable. I'm honestly baffled at how this hotel has good reviews.
We stayed in BnB's almost exclusively during our 2 weeks in Ireland and the Buttermilk was hands down the best of all. The room was lovely, breakfast out of this world and easy walk to town.
Friendly service. Warm comfortable hotel. Good value for money. Great location for the town. Leisure centre and pool very good. Breakfast tasty and adequate.
The Hotel is located in a gorgeous setting, just a few miles outside Clifden . The food was excellent and the staff were all wearing masks and were very good.
Location was great. Townhouse is well furnished and excellent. Good place to come and stay a week. If you don't plan to cook, a b&b or hotel may be better.
