Offering an on-site walking trail, Koura Bay Lodge is a 13-minute drive from central Kaikoura and Kaikoura Train Station. It offers free unlimited on-site golf on the 9-hole golf course. Exceptional location against the hills looking across the golf course to the ocean. Idyllic night sky with mist drifting over the mountains. Jen and Warren are fabulous hosts. Jen made us two reservations at wonderful restaurants the Strawberry Tree and Zephyr. I am sure without her wizardry we would not have got into these great places. The next day Jen made us a Jen gin and tonic. She could be an honorary Canadian as it was exactly as we make them at home. Koura Bay Golf resort is an outstanding home away from home. The rooms luxurious spotless well appointed and so quiet. We would highly recommend Koura Bay for all travelers and particularly if you are looking for a golf resort.

From € 127 per nightThe view is utterly stunning. I could not stop taking photos, as the light changed, and impressed me all over again. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the space and variety of places to sit to read when not distracted by the view. The weather all over NZ was atrocious, so we went with plenty to keep us entertained, but none of it needed. While the rest of Canterbury shivered and dealt with the rain and gale force winds, we strolled about Akaroa spotting birds and enjoying mild winter sun.

Our host Jasmine was incredible from start to finish with a world class breakfast of granola, berries, eggs, bacon, avocado and home grown tomatoes. We booked a cabin for 3 nights. Us and our 2yr old and 4yr old. The cabin was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. It has a lovely little deck area then onto a lawn which was perfect for the children. A playground in the main camping area also fab. Toilets and showers really close. Everything was clean and the owners are lovely. We had such a great time.

We just stay here for 4-5 hours before heading to airport at 3.00 a.m. For short stay it is comfortable and the check in procedure is easy (mailbox). however it is quite hard for us to find the rooms since there is no road sign or rooms numbers sign in each road so it took us for a while to locate all 3 houses that we booked since the number of the house can't be seen clearly since we arrive at night. the rest is superb
