HomeTown Inn by Red Roof East Syracuse is conveniently located off the New York State Thruway, just minutes from local businesses like Bristol-Myers Squibb and Widewaters Group. An extremely friendly concierge greeted me; he got me all squared away and placed in one of the nicer rooms, and he was quick to help when I needed soap and towels to shower before bed. The hotel is split between smoking and non-smoking; I am in the non-smoking wing, and you can't tell there are smoking rooms on the premise.

At first I was a bit taken aback because the website didn't mention pool out of commission and I messaged them several times with questions and no response, but the service, the cleanliness, the breakfast, it was like being at a resort.
