A house and a half on Beara peninsula, hotel in Castletownbere

A house and a half on Beara peninsula offers accommodations in Castletownbere, 2.9 miles from Dunboy Castle and 2.9 miles from Puxley Castle.

Great location, short walk into the town. Great to have a space for our sole use. Fresh milk, tea, coffee and sugar were supplied which was a lovely touch. We stayed in early Feb so it was chilly. I believe underfloor heating is being added soon. There is no connecting door between the living area/bedroom and the very large bathroom. This wasn’t a big issue for us but may be an issue for others. There was a great large walk in shower

Harbour View Bed & Breakfast, hotel in Castletownbere

Harbour View Bed & Breakfast in Castletownbere provides accommodations with a garden, a terrace, and a shared lounge.

New business venture, and Caroline was a fabulous host! Short walk to McCarthy's bar, and, yes, there *is* a Harbour view. Caroline and her husband were great after we suffered a mishap, bringing in a tray of tea and cakes. Breakfast was great (Continental, but don't let that put you off). Close by to all the great sights on the Beara peninsula. Stay here!!!

Really l nice people and we were sorry not to have met David too as he and Lorna have worked hard as a team and have a passion for what they do . The breakfast was delicious and we saw some cakes being made (premise was also a tea shop until recently) and all looked yum.. what a great location too nice and quirky and really spotless rooms . There is so much to do in this area.

There is so much to do in this area. Beautiful gardens you could spend half a day if not a full day. Scenery will exceed all your expectations. I have travelled all over the world and reland still remains the most beautiful country. The food in the pubs we randomly went into was lovely and fairly priced.

Castletownbere is a lovely fishing town in the south west of Ireland. It has a number of great cafes and restaurants. In addition to being a very picturesque place, it is within deriving distance of everywhere on the amazing Bear peninsula, which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful places to see in Ireland.

A fantastic location that is really unspoilt!

A fantastic location that is really unspoilt! Fabulous scenery ,great walks even around the town and the harbour, very good places to eat. I'd even recommend the chippers in the Square and great music in the pubs at night. It was really easy to get talking to locals and tourists alike. Very relaxed atmosphere and got some shopping in too! I loved the Art Gallery and prices were very good too.

A beautiful B&B located in a quiet yet wonderful location easily accessible by car (not sure about another mode of transport as I used my own car). The place was kept in excellent condition and the room had all the necessary amenities. The toilet was good and had all the required toiletries and fresh towels. The view from our room was lovely, especially in the morning. The breakfast served was good too. It is close to a lot of beautiful scenic gems along the west of cork. Ideal location if you are planning a ring of Beara trip.

Brian and Caroline are the perfect hosts, They provided a proffessional approach as from greeting to departure, the breakfast is continental but it is parallel to a truly 5***** star hotel.we arrived not knowing what to expect and we left as friends, and we certainly can recommend the Harbour View and when we back we hoping to stay there again. Thank you so much for making our short stay so enjoyable, thank you again Brian & Caroline.

Without a doubt, the best B&B in all of Beara. Beautiful room, great location, and the hotel is staffed by angels - Michelle, Lorna and all the staff put in so much effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The food is absolutely divine - unparalleled breakfast, and the Tea Room serves the best cake we've ever eaten. If you wish to explore the Beara Peninsula, make the Old Medical Hall your base of operations.

Everything was lovely. Denis the host is gracious & helpful — as needed. The location is terrific for getting out & about in the town of Castletownbere, with a wonderful view across the bay to Bere Island. The breakfast each morning is sumptuous, cold cuts, fruit salad, freshly baked bread, eggs & sausage on weekends. There's even a small library of books about the West Cork region.

Location was excellent with a view overlooking Castletownbere. Host Robert was very helpful and informative anytime I needed to contact him. Got to see the best of the coastline from Castletownbere to Kenmare and a day trip to Glengarriff too. And to top it off, a day on Bere Island with Spring sunshine all day. Hope to make it back someday.

Fantastic modern cottage in superb location, with towering Hungry Hill above and glorious views across Gantry Bay below. The house is only a 10-minute drive away from Castletownbere, with its bars and restaurants. Very tranquil position, peaceful at night.
