The location close to the cliff walk was very handy. Sean's full Irish breakfast was very rich and tasty.
The Marine Hotel is a 5-minute walk from the beach and has rooms with views over Dublin Bay.

First time staying in the Marine Hotel.
I stayed for 2 nights - the only suitable room that matched my dates when booking was a Superior Double Room with Sea View with breakfast included.
I arrived early (c1pm) and was able to leave my bag in storage.
Returned c4pm and was able to check-in.
My room (423) was faultless.
Breakfast was excellent - buffet of a wide range of hot and cold options.
Check out was quick and easy.
After check - out I was able to leave my bag in storage while I was out on the final morning.
All the staff that I dealt with - both at Reception and in the Breakfast Room - were friendly and helpful.
The location is excellent with Sutton Dart station a 5-10 minute walk away. Sutton seemed well serviced with bus options. Howth was a half hour walk away.
If I planned to visit the same north Dublin area again then I would happily stay again in the Marine Hotel.
Tucked away in a quiet corner of ‘The Velvet Strand’, one of Ireland’s most stunning stretches of uninterrupted coastline - the historic Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links, once the family home...

Location was excellent. Directly across from the beach with a bus stop in front of the hotel.
Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We did not have any breakfast at the hotel, although it was offered to guests.

Welcoming atmosphere close to Dart stop, parking on the street
Howth is the place to stay when visiting Dublin. Just 30 minutes by train away from he city centre, it is a small but beautiful town on a penninsula surrounded with cliffs and seagull collonies. Many great pubs and restuarants, fantastic views and, contrary to Dublin - the calm and peaceful atmosphere where you can really relax.

I did not know what to expect as we booked last minute to go to a concert in Malahide. Howth is a beautiful seaside town with lots on offer (restaurants, bars, cafes etc...) We hope to return in the near future to spend more time there. Great for couples & families. A bit hilly in places so you need to have good mobility if you want to explore or stay slightly out of town. I visited a beautiful cove in the morning time where there were lots of swimmers in the sea & it was so peaceful...great way to start the day.

Location: This was the first time we were setting foot on Irish soil. King Sitric in Howth was the first place we headed to from Dublin Airport. No regrets! So much to see and do in Howth. Charming views in every direction. So much to take in.
Transport: A short taxi ride or walk to the train station. Buses stop less than 100m from the hotel. I think one even passes right in front of the hotel.
People: The Irish are the best. Everywhere, they seem to be so welcoming and genuine.
Hotel and Rooms: Interesting history. It should be promoted more. Pleasant and friendly staff. Our room was steps from the ocean. What a lovely welcome to a lovely country. The room had nice little touches. Loved the in-room Nespresso & chocs. Nice hot showers.
Food: Amazingly fresh seafood in the restaurant downstairs for dinner (apparently caught by local fisherman in the sea right outside our room) and upstairs for guests' breakfasts; the menu items were well-chosen. Fish is also an option for breakfast! Found it strange though that so little bread is given, as there's so much rich and flavourful sauce to lap up. We even paid for more bread, but again it was just one tiny slice of bread. Maybe it's an Irish thing?
Pricing: We found Ireland in general to be very expensive, from hotels to food to shopping.

Cliff walk, buzz of day trippers, cafes and restaurants.
Cliff walk, buzz of day trippers, cafes and restaurants. Everything well maintained. Initially had trouble getting a pre dinner drink as most bars.taverns are booking their tables for diners. We were put out in the cold in O'Connells! Finally hit on The Harbour Bar which was lovely.

All the pubs serve the same type food ...very dated - fish and chips all that beautiful fish in batter...such a shame - there would need to be more variety without having to avail of fine dining. The food offerings do seem to be stuck in a time zone, needs to be more vegetarian, vegan etc....
However, Howth is beautiful and well worth a stay.
The owner was so kind and caring. The location was amazing! Close to the cliff trail. Enjoyed the fresh sea air. The decor of King Sitric is so beautiful. The beds were extremely comfortable. The room is well equipped with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and toiletries. Shower with plenty of power and hot water. Make time to have the yummy breakfast in the hotel dining area over looking the ocean. Also their restaurant food was amazing. It is a short walk from the train station through beautiful Howth village. Everyone is so friendly their.
Absolutely wonderful, family owned property encompassing both the accommodations and restaurant (East). The rooms were incredibly clean, well appointed and with beautiful sea views. Breakfast was included and outstanding. East, which is the seafood restaurant downstairs, provided one of the most memorable meals in memory - I highly recommend the oysters, Dublin bay prawns and crab. Simple and perfectly executed. Thanks to all at King Sitric who made our stay so memorable. Howth is a gem, and we can’t wait to return. Sláinte!
Sean is helpful, friendly, informative, and genuine! You can tell he loves what he does!
His breakfast is amazing! He alwYs knows the weather for tou and local goings on as well, to help you plan your trip! A stoat, hedghogs and a seagull named Henrietta, who visits the kitchen window, live on site and add to the charm!
Beds are comfortable and rooms are exceptionally clean. The location in Howth is near a bus stop and a short walk to a train station. Dublin is easily accessible but howth is a quiet escape from the hustle.
I don't think I have ever encountered more helpful staff. The atmosphere was really warm and friendly. The room really exceeded our expectations. Excellent shower. The breakfast is really generous and the breakfast menu is something different. We had one evening meal there as well which was excellent. Overall, we loved Howth, and this was a real jewell. We will be back.
Everything about this stay was wonderful. Séan was extremely kind and welcoming and the place and location were perfect. Breakfast was the best I had in all of Ireland and the location near the cliffs and town could not be beat. I hope to be back in Howth so that I can stay here again, as it is clear that the b&b business is a labor of love here.
We had the loveliest time at Gleann Na Smol! Our host was a delight/ His welcoming hospitality went over and beyond our expectations. The breakfasts were fabulous, the conversations were a joy, and the added time he spent with us assisting us with the are was extremely kind. If we return to Howth, we will certainly stay here again!
Location was excellent. First visit to Howth & will be where we stay from now on instead of in Dublin City. Staff were helpful, knowledgable & courteous. Breakfast was included in the price, and was very enjoyable. We had dinner in their restaurant on Sunday evening, pre-booking advised. Mostly seafood but very good indeed.
Sean was an amazing host. He was friendly & knowledgeable about the area. The location was convenient for exploring Howth, the Cliff Walk, and harbour shops/restaurants. 30 min drive from the airport. Beds were comfortable. Showers were hot. Breakfast was hot, fresh, & made to order. Onsite parking.
Great location in a beautiful part of Howth, 20 min to Dublin city centre and 30 minutes to the airport. The house is lovely and Sean was a fantastic host and the nicest man with lots of knowledge about Ireland. About 5 minutes walking distance to the harbour where you can spot seals.
But of a tardis, looked small from outside but tons of space. Properly comfortable and stylishly decorated. Perfect location for us, right near the harbour with all its bars and restaurants, short walk to the DART for access to Dublin centre.
Perfect location facing the ocean and easy walk to all restaurants and stores in Howth. We watched a sunset on the pier and sunrise from our room. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Clean and efficient room.
Superb Location. Clean comfortable quiet rooms. Excellent breakfast. Howth is a little gem, not to be missed when visiting Dublin. We really enjoyed the cliff walk, incredible views!
