Monfalcone is not the most touristic place to be. we were there for a regatta so we visited, the sailclub/marina! we visited Slovenia (the caves) visited Trieste, Udine, Grado,... Monfalcone was fine, and a good place to start these visits. I like the authenticity and it not being touristic,

I wish I hadn't planned for 2 days here - everything was so expensive, much more so than other places in Italy. The locals did not seem to be very welcoming of my presence although I did try to be as polite as possible and avoid the "annoying tourist" stereotype. I felt quite trapped in the small town and didn't know where to go - most cafes advertised as being open on google maps were actually closed...

We would stay longer; however, the place was not available. We found a cheaper place, but I wouldn't mind paying more to stay at this place. Cleanliness, attention, and care—you would feel yourself never leaving home. You will get everything that you need, and they will provide it. Bed was very comfortable. Angelo is an excellent host. My husband ended having to leave our trip early and couldn’t stay with me, but Angelo was accommodating and made me feel very comfortable.
