Buren is a small village, but Ameland is also a small island...
Buren is a small village, but Ameland is also a small island, so you cannot expect large towns here. Very nice nature, as in all Ameland. Large dunes, where you can bike or take a walk... Beautiful beaches with lots of sand... Beach restaurant (we did not visit it due to covid19)... Ameland is small, so we biked through all the island during our 4 days stay: one day to one side, another day to another side. Good restaurants to order meal. We reccomend to try fish restaurant Str. Anders and Italiand meal restaurant De Branding. Meal was delicisious.

Ameland gets mixed reviews but it is hard to see why, beautiful old villages with lots of history, beautiful nature, plenty of options for fresh and good quality food and clean, wide and quite empty beaches with (temperature wise) swimmable water, hard to beat!

Cute little town.
Cute little town. There is really nothing to do there and that's the whole point. Rent an e-bike (a normal bicycle can be tough when facing a headwind) and cycle around the island - enjoy the restaurants, bars and beaches. It's a relaxing place and that's what it's for!
It is a cozy hotel only 10 minutes bikeride away from the port. The beach can be reached also in approximately 10 minutes by bike.
