Tortugal Boutique River Lodge er staðsett í ánni Rio Dulce, nálægt kastala frá 16. öld og er baðað í næstum stöðugri andvara frá ströndinni en þar er boðið upp á svalandi og hressandi stað. What did we like? All of it! The rooms are tastefully decorated. They were very comfy, despite being in the middle of nature. Attentive staff, picked us up to and fro Rio Dulce. Good food, cold beers. Very refreshing to be able to jump in the river when hot!

El Hotelito Perdido er lítið frumskógar athvarf staðsett miðsvæðis í Rio Dulce-þjóðgarðinum. This was genuinely the highlight of my 3 weeks in Guatemala. Stunning location, the staff were an absolute pleasure to deal with and the owners were so warm and friendly. Couldn't advise more

Hotel Posada Stella Maris er staðsett í Puerto Barrios og býður upp á 5 stjörnu gistirými með garði og sameiginlegri setustofu. Gististaðurinn býður upp á alhliða móttökuþjónustu og barnaleikvöll. There is big enough and clean room with nice moutain views balcony. Also there is shared kitchen can be used. Very warm and helpful host. It is located Santo Tomas de castile, easy to take a taxi ( 30 GTQ ) or chicken bus( 3GTQ) from puerto Barrios center. Recommend to take couple days to chill out. There is walkable to beach and waterfall. The accommodation fee all goes to charity.

Reserva Natural Cañón Seacacar er staðsett í Izabal, 45 km frá Castillo de San Felipe de Lara og býður upp á gistirými með garði, ókeypis einkabílastæði, verönd og veitingastað. Perfect place hidden in a small village. It’s the only accommodation in the village and has been build to help the local community. The first language in the village is Q’eqchi, the children are now learning Spanish in school from about age 5. The staff of the hotel is from the village and for them it is a place to learn and work in tourism. They are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a great Guatemalan experience in one of the most beautiful places of Guatemala, where the crowds don’t go (yet), this is where you want to go! I reached the hotel by a two hour trail that is insanely beautiful, constructed by the people of the village, easy to follow and a good climb to two wooden miradors with lake and jungle views. Always with the sound of absolutely fantastic river ‘sauce’ on the background. The next day I went down on a tube and they carried my bag down. The tubing in the river is what will drop your yaws!! Absolutely beautiful, a cañón with high Walls on both sides. Everything is well organized and clean. It absolutely worth a visit! I’m writing this review because I could not believe that I was the only tourist there (on a Saturday)! You will not regret your visit and you will probably (hopefully) write a similar review to help this village and the people creating a better future for there town. There are several projects ongoing, including deforestation! Go and enjoy jungle, river and peace while enjoying great food and comfortable accommodation(affordable too!)

Livingston Resort Hotel er með garð, verönd, veitingastað og bar í Lívingston. The pool was amazing and has heating, allowing you to enjoy it even late at night. The food was amazing, I tried all of the pasta places in town and none came close to match theirs.

Casa Nostra er með garð, sameiginlega setustofu, verönd og veitingastað í Lívingston. Þetta 3 stjörnu hótel býður upp á ókeypis WiFi, herbergisþjónustu og sólarhringsmóttöku. Management and all staff were super friendly, accommodating, and professional. We also loved our view on the large balcony. The hotel restaurant is outstanding, excellent food with a beautiful view of the ocean and surrounding mountains. We would definitely recommend to others looking to stay in the area.

Hotel La Casa Rosada er með garð, verönd, veitingastað og bar í Lívingston. Meðal aðstöðu á gististaðnum er herbergisþjónusta og upplýsingaborð ferðaþjónustu, auk ókeypis WiFi hvarvetna. I loved the cozy and comfortable loft. The view of the loft was awesome and I loved the breeze of the ocean in the open loft. The stuff was super helpful with informations about Livingston and what I can explore. The Topada and the cappuccino in the restaurant was simply amazing.

Hotel El Reformador er staðsett í Puerto Barrios og býður upp á garð, verönd, veitingastað og bar. Þetta 4 stjörnu hótel býður upp á ókeypis WiFi, herbergisþjónustu og sólarhringsmóttöku. It was centrally located near harbor restaurants. We felt safe there. They had English speaking staff at the front desk and they arranged an English speaking taxi for us that arrived promptly at 6:00 a.m. The room was clean and had plenty of hot water. The building felt very safe.

Nanajuana Río Dulce er með veitingastað, útisundlaug, líkamsræktarstöð og bar í Río Dulce. Gististaðurinn er með sameiginlega setustofu, garð og grillaðstöðu. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Pool was refreshing- needs a paint but I believe this is about to happen. Room was simple but comfortable. Good shower with hot water. Beds were very comfy. Lovely calm atmosphere. Restaurant and pool look out over the river. Dinner at restaurant was a bit pricey but good quality. Feels safe with a security gate and a long driveway off the main road.

Finca Tatin Hotel er staðsett í miðjum frumskóginum, 3 km frá miðbæ Livingston, og býður upp á stóran garð, verönd með garðhúsgögnum og hengirúmssvæði. If i have to select 1 place in Central America, this would be the one ! This property is magical. Placed in the jungle by the Rio Dulce is just perfect little paradise. The whole staff is great, perfect, nice , professional. It was a pleasure staying there. I sure will be back. For the digital nomads, if you need to do some loadings, you need to know that it will take you 3 to 5 times more time to work. But then again, you have the perfect environment and it's a great place to slow down.
