The food is awesome and they are very considerate about dietary demands. The staff was so genuinely nice and made you really feel at home. Everything is very well organized (tours, transfers, etc.). This is really the island life you want. At the house reef we saw a dozen turtles and other beautiful things. After that you could relax with a nice free snack and some good tea in the pool. The free kayaks are a plus too. If you are thinking about a stay in or around Bunaken this is really the place you should be, believe us. Ps non-divers can have a great time too.

The best and kindest homestay i have ever been! This homestay is unique in many forms: the owner Steven contacted me a few days before my arrival to answer all my questions, which was a solo female traveller very helpful. He organised me a taxi and boat from Manado to come to Bunaken and back. Through this i could catch directly my flight. Steven and Misi were always helping me with any situation coming up and I had the feeling I could always ask them anything (i had a difficult situation in the middle). The prices were always transparent and fair. They also helped me to find a very good diving school and helped me planning my snorkeling trips (they have a lot of contacts). Both are very kind, warm and open. They even invited me to celebrate New Years Eve with them and their friends. On my last night we had a small farewell party to which Steven invited some friends over to play music! The room is very clean and comfortable. In the whole house I always had perfect and fast Wifi (didn't expect it on an Island:)). The room had a fan and as an add-on AC. The food is cooked fresh, delicious and a lot. Dietary requests are taken serious (as for me i dont like fish and love Tempeh :)). I also rented a Scooter from them which had a very high quality! I am super happy and grateful I stayed at El Homestay and I am already planning to come back:). I honestly fell in love with this family. If you want to have homestay which feels like home and get to know the village of Bunaken and the culture you should definetely stay at El Homestay!

This homestay features air-conditioned accommodations with a terrace and free Wifi. Towels and bed linen are available in the homestay. Such a great experience. The lodge is located very close to the beach where the boat drops you off. The rooms are very comfy and have AC. Be prepared for a bucket shower! Dion is very friendly and helpful, the diving is very good value and the crew are kind and very good at their jobs. The best part for us was the food!! All three meals are included and the home cooking is really incredible and delicious, they should.open a restaurant! We miss it already Overall we highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again

Sunset Guest House & Bar in Bunaken provides adults-only accommodations with a private beach area and a bar. There's a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. Comfortable bedroom with shared bathroom. There is a fan in the room which provided us with enough comfort to sleep without being too hot. The hosts Yoke and Helmi are a lovely couple who arranged snorkeling trips for us and gave great advice about where to visit on the island. Helmi also sourced us a GoPro for a snorkeling trip. The dining area is set up so guests eat together which was a great way for us to socialise. The food was incredible and possibly the best we have eaten in 5 months of traveling. Every lunch and dinner was different and garnished with fresh vegetables and herbs. The portion sizes were huge which was nice after days out exploring the local reefs. The guesthouse is located overlooking the beach in the main village. Great for watching the sunset and hearing the sea at night. Overall this has been our favourite guesthouse so far in Asia!

Novita Homestay provides beachfront accommodations in Bunaken. This 3-star homestay offers full-day security and room service. My stay at Novita was incredible. I felt like part of a family. The food is excellent and the family is adorable. The accommodation is very comfortable and the value for money unbeatable. I only want to come back to Bunaken to see them! The girls are very nice too. We went snorkeling together. Thanks a lot. I recommend 100%.

Siladen Resort & Spa is an eco-friendly beachfront resort with an outdoor pool, a private beach area and a restaurant overlooking the ocean. Beautiful resort with yummy food. The management and staff were great -any problems were sorted promptly and we felt very well cared for. Great atmosphere and beautiful sunset views. Amazing house reef for snorkelling! We did the dolphin & snorkelling trips and my boyfriend did some dives (special thanks to Lea for re-introducing him to diving), all well organised. The spa is also fab. 10 days went too quickly! Highly recommended.

Offering an accommodations with a dove center, Happy Gecko Dove Resort is located on Bunaken Island in North Sulawesi, just steps from the island’s world-famous beaches and diving sites. The entire team from the owners to the support staff were unfailingly friendly, helpful and good-humoured. The food was simple but really delicious. The diving trips were well organised and we were well looked after by the whole crew. All in all, a really lovely place.

Blending nicely with the countryside, Rajah Laut Dove Resort offers bungalows built with wood from coconut palms. Stop reading the reviews and book this now. NOW! It so amazing. We stayed 8 nights. Right on the ocean, with a little beach, no mangrove trees to obstruct view or access to beautiful coral reef, great for snorkeling. Other places in the island don’t have this. I spotted snowflake eels, 8 types of clownfish, 3 types of anemones, coral colonies the size of cars, and so many pyramid butterflyfish and niger triggerfish just in the first thirty minutes. It’s amazing. All of the rooms have wonderful views. It was so so so relaxing to be there. I have never had such a good experience. The food was amazing and local. We did vegetarian and it was so tasty. They also had fresh fruit around at all times. We went with the divers on their charted boat and snorkeled for around 12$ a person for two separate spots a day. Super affordable. The boat team of three men were so professional, knowledgeable, and yet super funny and kind. I felt like we’re all friends by the end. There is a public boat from manado, which we took on our way out, and we booked a private boat on our way in through Raja Laut. Both were great. Brahm the manager was so kind and attentive. We did laundry there and it was done well. Jessie and her staff in the kitchen were so kind. Always enough food, served family style so we could get to know the other guests. It was so nice, but also acceptable to talk to your own party if you wanted to.
