Surrounded by beautiful gardens, Shamrock Lodge Hotel is a family-run hotel located in the very centre of Ireland, just 5 minutes’ walk from the restaurants, bars, and nightlife of Athlone town... We had an unusual experience during our stay here. We had a lovely room, very large and comfortable, and all the reception people we dealt with were very helpful. In the morning after our first night, my husband had a kidney stone attack, and we had to go to the hospital. It was a Sunday and the receptionist told us we needed to go to Portiuncula Hospital and she called a taxi. After that, he was admitted to hospital, and I was on my own for the next night and I had to add on one more night, which was in a smaller room, but equally as comfortable. I appreciated being able to have dinner at the hotel for the two nights on my own, and the meals were very good. I had the breakfast on one morning, and it was very good, with lots of variety. I also appreciated the kindness and understanding of the reception staff. On the morning I left, because I had to wait for a taxi, the receptionist had tea and a biscuit brought to me. It was a memorable stay, perhaps for the wrong reasons, but I will always remember the staff at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.

In the heart of Mullingar town, this hotel with a bar and restaurant offers a home-from-home environment. Local attractions include Belvedere House and Gardens, golf and Mullingar Greyhound Stadium. We felt like transported back in time. It was awesome.

In Athlone's lively centre, this 4-star Sheraton Hotel has a 20-metre pool, a luxury spa, free internet and free parking. The best hotel we had during traveling through Irland. Good Value for money, good breakfast and restaurant, very lovely room, enough space to stay, wonderful bathroom without any barriers.

Overlooking 10 acres of town park, Annebrook House Hotel is located in the centre of Mullingar. Lovely room with a balcony to the front of the building. Staff were were attentive and friendly. Waling distance to different bars.

A special mention to Nicole in conference & events who is an absolute asset to the team & has made all my booking a breeze to organise. Contemporary 4-star Mullingar Park Hotel offers a restaurant, leisure club and stylish rooms with free Wi-Fi. Beautiful hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was excellent and we were very happy with the room. We will definitely stay there again.
