Gareth and Rika, the owners, couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. Was thankful for the shuttle up to the lifts every morning, even though it’s a short walk.

The location was perfect with a huge aeon mall just opposite and the famous ramen santoka just within 1 min walk. Breakfast offered also had a great variety and taste great!

Open from March 2015, JR Inn Asahikawa offers simple accommodation directly connected to JR Asahikawa Station. A public bath and laundry facilities are available on site. The onsen was amazing, it was open for most of the day and was great for relaxing. The location of the hotel is right on top of a mall with a supermarket, and a food court, which was really convinient for food. The bus station for the zoo is a minute walk from the hotel, and many other bus stations. They had at least 3 laundry machines, the lounge was really comfortable and relaxing to sit in, and they had a pillow station to choose pillow hardness which is mind blowing.
